Donna Marie Craig

Born on June 8, 1957 in Rochelle Park, New Jersey to Joyce and Carmine Licursi, Donna was a beautiful baby. Her parents instilled in her the importance of education at a very young age.

Upon graduation from high school, Donna went to Montclair State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree, a 4 year course that Donna completed in 3 years. After graduation from Montclair State Donna started her career at ATT as a system engineer. While working at ATT Bell Labs,Donna went to Cornell University and received her Masters Degree in Engineering.

Donna passed away on July 8, 2020 from Pancreatic Cancer. It was her wish to start a scholarship fund to ensure that young people who needed financial help in their education would be able to receive it. She further desired that Jesus Christ would be a part of the recipient(s) educational process.

That is why Donna wanted Westside Church, the church she loved, to facilitate this scholarship.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to higher education and be accepted to or currently enrolled at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university.
Two selected students will be awarded in the 2024-2025 academic year. Local scholarship recipients must be present during Sunday worship services (9am and 10:30am) on Sunday August 4, 2024, at the Fort Pierce Campus for scholarship presentation. Recipients will also be expected to attend a reception to meet George Craig immediately following the 10:30 service.

Individual Award: $5000*

*A ministry internship is available for interested scholarship recipients

Requirements

1. Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
2. Completion of the scholarship application
3. Have a demonstrated unmet financial need verified by the student’s college or university
4. A legible transcript (unofficial or official) with the applicant’s current GPA and a letter of admission to verify enrollment
